Journeymen Welders- 14-Day Rotation

Weldco Heavy Industries (WHI) is a large steel fabrication and repair facility located in the Fort McKay Caribou Energy Park. Strategically positioned in the heart of Alberta’s Oil Sands, WHI is able to effectively meet the requirements for large steel repair, assembly and refurbishment in the industry. We are looking for like-minded people who will support our culture. WHI is currently recruiting Journeymen Welders for the Fort MacKay location on a 14-days on/ 14-days off rotation, 12-hour shifts. Reporting to the Shop Foreman your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following; What you will do: Repair/rebuild of large mining equipment including; heavy haul truck boxes, dozer blades, shovel clam/backwall dippers What you bring to the position: * Proficiency in all position use of: GMAW, FCAW, SMAW; all sizes of weld wire * Reading and interpretation of blueprints * Proficient in the use of oxy/fuel cutting equipment, electric welding machines * Active participation in Safety Programs * Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment at all times * Preference will be given to applicants that have worked on Oil Sands sites and demonstrate sustained safety consciousness Your qualifications: * Certified Red Seal or Alberta Journeyperson Welder * One year of experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset * Valid fall protection & elevated work platform certificate * Additional valid safety certifications is an asset What we bring: * Competitive pay, along with shift premiums * A living allowance (LOA) will be provided * No accommodations or transportation provided * Personal growth, career advancement opportunities * A workplace that prides itself on safety, cleanliness, respect, and results * Feedback and recognition for a job well done Please note: Successful candidates will undergo a pre-employment medical evaluation upon hiring. ****** If a valid Certification of Indian Status is provided, you may be eligible to have your income exempt from tax. Candidates must hold a Certified Red Seal or Alberta Journeyperson Welder certification and possess valid fall protection and elevated work platform certificates. Proficiency in GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW welding processes, along with the ability to read blueprints, is required.
