Overview Amhil's HR team is looking for a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our team and support the hourly & salary Payroll & Benefits function for our group of companies, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of payroll. Snapshot This is a full-time position, based onsite. This role requires outstanding skills in internal controls and reconciliation : * Apply a rigorous payroll validation process to ensure employees' eligibility and qualifying rules are compliant for all special payments (shift premiums, mid-week overtime, on call premiums, weekend overtime premiums, on call premiums, etc.) * Scrutinize timesheet entries and systematically question the accuracy of the data before submitting the payroll * Act as a liaison with floor supervisors to ensure timecard exceptions are rectified * Verify that required approvals, backup documentation, and internal controls are fully compliant prior to any payroll submission * Investigate payroll issues and actively follow up on actions until full closure * Support payroll processing for weekly and bi-weekly, hourly, salaried, union and non-union in ADP Workforce Now (AutoPay). * Focus on Customer Service in responding to employee payroll & benefits questions, employment letter requests etc. in a timely manner. * Update and maintain current and accurate information in Payroll and Time & Attendance system. * Participate in new hire orientation for payroll, time & attendance system, overview of benefits, and company pension plan information. * Support period (weekly, biweekly, monthly and year-end) requirements/reconciliations including T4, WSIB, etc. * Prepares payroll reports for management and auditing purposes. * Coordinating enrolments and employee eligibility, payment of monthly premiums and reconciliations. * Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant industry regulations, tax, and deduction laws. * Generate reports for scheduled and ad-hoc reports such as Labour reports, headcount, overtime, attendance, hours worked and progression increments etc. * Create, maintain and update employee files as we move to a fully digital system. What we're looking for * A Great Attitude! * Solid, recent experience with ADP Workforce Now (WFN), preferably AutoPay. * Confident, solutions-oriented self-starter. * Experienced (3-4 years) payroll practitioner in a mid-sized company - Manufacturing industry strongly preferred. * People-skills and proven ability to build relationships. * High commitment to strong customer service. * Highly detail-oriented, * Ability to work collaboratively at all levels providing a prompt, courteous service to all employees * High level of integrity and able to maintain strict confidentiality. * Solid communication and interpersonal skills. * Strong proficiency with computers, MS Office, Payroll systems. Assets * NPI/PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation.
