Based at our Vancouver Plant location, we are searching for a full-time Industrial Electrician. This role is responsible for maintaining, installing, calibrating and troubleshooting of all electrical instrumentation and plant equipment. Adherence to WCRL safety procedures and processes are a requirement of this position. Build a stable career at a reputable company with more than 450 employees Competitive wages Continuous in-house training opportunities available Comprehensive compensation package offered to full-time employees including employer-paid extended health benefits Generous RRSP matching for employee contributions after 1 year Take a look at our About Us video here: https://vimeo.com/396483325 SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES • Utilize various Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems for troubleshooting and programming including Schneider Electric PLC’s and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), Unity Programming, Profibus, and Wonderware Graphics • Troubleshoot Wonderware HMI software including set up of workstations and remote panels • May be asked to safely operate forklifts and other hoisting devices when necessary • Provide recommendations for improvements to equipment and processes • Produce basic electrical drawings • Accurately Measure, calculate, and interpret electrical values, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards” • Use a wide variety of hand power tools, including mobile equipment in a safe manner • Mentor Apprentices through their professional development • Perform shift work based on company business needs which evolve and change in response to customer demands • Work overtime as instructed to ensure minimal downtime of facilities • Adhere to the company Code of Conduct and all West Coast Reduction Ltd. policies • Foster a positive team and company culture by ensuring treatment of others is respectful and aligned with company values • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor QUALIFICATIONS & FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS • Possession of a valid British Columbia Journeyperson Electrician Certificate or an interprovincial Electrical Red Seal Certification • 5 years of experience in production or similar environment or industry • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written, with strong communication skills • Ability to read or interpret diagrams, schematic drawings and manuals to determine work procedures • Industrial Instrumentation & Control Mechanic Certification (Red Seal) is considered an asset • Ability to frequently move, carry, lift, push and pull equipment up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance • Perform repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing and reaching overhead above the shoulders daily • Adaptable to adverse conditions including confined space, heights, cold weather, odours and animal by-products INTERESTED CANDIDATES ARE INVITED TO SUBMIT THEIR APPLICATION VIA THE “APPLY” LINK We thank all applicants, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
