Be a part of the initial team to grow and operate a regionally significant new underground mine development that is rapidly becoming the future of the iconic Red Lake gold mining district in Ontario, Canada. Reporting to the Senior Mine Technologist, the successful candidate will work 14:14 roaster and will be responsible for providing ventilation statutory requirement to support the safe development of the mine to achieve and surpass production targets while adding value to the Red Lake Madsen mine. The Focus of this role will include: Monitor airflow, air quality, and temperature measurements and generating weekly vent reports Performing weekly audits on auxiliary ventilation quality and providing improvements recommendations Ensuring mine wide compliance to ventilation regulatory requirements Supporting the conceptual presentations by providing ventilation designs Design modified working condition plans to guide the safety of workers and machines working within areas that need specifically tailored ventilation plans and maximum working durations in compliance to ventilation regulatory requirements Maintain an up to date Ventsim model of the mine that reflects the asbuilt and future ventilation strategy for the mine Test for methane, silica, DMP and determine diesel equipment allowances Generate monthly updates for the mine’s Emergency Response Plans Support weekly underground survey requirements whenever needed Support all engineered projects scheduling, costing and needed materials purchase timely to ensure the construction of ventilation, water management and electrification projects are completed on schedule All other jobs that will be assigned by the Chief Mine Engineer Skills and Experience: 4 years mining engineering degree or 2 years engineering technician diploma or equivalent Experience with the use of Deswik mine planning software 2 years experience working in an underground mine Proficiency in Microsoft suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) Benefits: Quarterly operation bonus program Fly in/Fly out, accommodations and meals provided 100% employer paid extended health and dental program RRSP matching program ***Must be willing to produce a criminal background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol test*** Red Lake Madsen Mine is an equal opportunity employer who appreciates all those interested in working on this exciting project.
