Responsibilities Reporting to Manager of E-Learning and Information Services, the Business Solutions Analyst provides specialized business analysis expertise to support continuous improvement across the Faculty of Education. Working collaboratively with leaders, faculty, and staff, the role analyzes business processes, operational practices, and service delivery models to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, resource utilization, and the delivery of programs and services that support teaching, learning, research, and student success. The Business Solutions Analyst leads business analysis activities for Faculty-wide initiatives, including current state assessments, process mapping, requirements gathering, stakeholder consultation, and the development of future state recommendations and implementation roadmaps. The role identifies operational challenges and bottlenecks, evaluates options, and recommends practical, evidence-informed solutions that support informed decision-making, improve organizational effectiveness, and position the Faculty for long-term operational success. Qualifications Education: Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Information Systems, Public Administration, or another related discipline Professional certification in business analysis (e.g., Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA), PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA)), or an equivalent business analysis designation Master's degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Public Administration, or a related field is considered an asset Experience: 5 years' progressively responsible experience conducting business analysis, operational reviews, process improvement, or organizational effectiveness initiatives within a large, complex organization Experience working with business processes and workflows supported by enterprise systems such as CRM, HRIS, student information systems and integrated administrative systems Experience conducting current state assessments, business process mapping, workflow analysis, business requirements gathering, and root cause analysis to identify operational challenges and develop practical business solutions Experience facilitating stakeholder consultation sessions, workshops, interviews, and requirements gathering activities with diverse stakeholder groups Experience evaluating business processes, operational practices, service delivery models, and resource utilization to identify opportunities for improvement and develop evidence-informed recommendations Experience preparing business cases, reports, recommendations, implementation roadmaps, and other documentation that supports operational planning and decision-making Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge of business analysis principles, methodologies, techniques, and best practices, with the ability to apply them to operational improvement initiatives Ability to manage multiple business analysis initiatives simultaneously while balancing competing priorities and meeting established timelines Demonstrated ability to conduct current state assessments, process mapping, workflow analysis, business requirements gathering, root cause analysis, and future state planning Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex operational issues, identify practical solutions, and make evidence-informed recommendations Demonstrated ability to assess and prioritize business improvement opportunities based on operational impact, organizational priorities, resource requirements, risks, and implementation feasibility Exceptional consultation, facilitation, and relationship management skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders, build consensus, and support collaborative decision-making Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear business cases, reports, presentations, recommendations, and other business analysis documentation for a variety of audiences Demonstrated ability to analyze the impact of proposed changes on people, processes, technology, and organizational effectiveness while supporting continuous improvement and informed decision-making Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound professional judgment, and manage multiple priorities within a dynamic and evolving environment Demonstrated understanding of enterprise systems, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), student information systems, and system integrations, with the ability to understand how these systems Western Values Diversity The University invites applications from all qualified individuals.
