Résumé du poste
Private Family - Personal Family POSITION PROFILE · CONFIDENTIAL · JULY 2026 TITLE: Full-Time Family / House Manager DAYS / HOURS: Approx. 36–40 hours per week • Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM • Friday: Off (to be discussed – optional) • No overnights • Minor flexibility by quarter for the kids’ sports (may shift one day a quarter for driving support — not critical) LOCATION: Canyon Heights, North Vancouver, BC TOP PRIORITIES — WHAT WE’RE REALLY AFTER • Someone who has done this before — mature, stable in their own life, and experienced running a private household. This is not a structured 9-to-5 — every day is different, and tasks get reprioritized around appointments and parent travel. • Simple, reliable home cooking — nothing fancy. If they can roast a chicken, cook rice, and put together a salad, that’s exactly what we need. We eat simply. • Resourceful and self-directed — able to simply get things done. Our kids are teens and fairly independent, so this role is weighted toward the household — cooking, errands, driving, and keeping things running smoothly — more than hands-on childcare. CHILDREN Daughter 13, Entering Gr. 8, Loves horses, music, and time with the dogs. Kind, well-behaved, a little shy at first. Son, 14, Entering Gr. 10, Sweet, easy-going boy. Loves soccer, basketball, and sports. Independent; parents handle schoolwork. PARENT PROFILE Mom is a busy executive working full-time outside the home. Dad is CEO of his own business and works full-time from home. HOUSEHOLD Approx. 6,000 sq ft; 5-bedroom, 5-bathroom home in Canyon Heights. Weekly cleaners handle the deeper cleaning, laundry-folding, and bed-changing (hours can be added to this role if it makes more sense to consolidate). A part-time cook assists as needed. Pets: two dogs — a 14-week-old miniature dachshund puppy (in training) and a 7-year-old comfort golden retriever — plus two cats. VEHICLE PROVIDED: 2020 Acura MDX DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Kitchen & Meals • Simple, wholesome family meals (2 nights a week) — think roast chicken, rice, and a salad. Nothing elaborate. • Grocery shopping and keeping the kitchen stocked • Basic breakfasts and packed school lunches • Basic dinner prep a couple of nights a week • Keep cut fruit and veggies on hand; reorder groceries as they run low Kids & School (light-touch) • The kids are teens and fairly independent — this is more about support than hands-on care • Some morning help and school drop-offs as needed • On the school distribution lists; coordinate the occasional appointment and plan for pro-D days • Keep the kids’ schedule updated in the family calendar Household • Daily tidying of the main living areas and putting things away • Make beds; children’s laundry as needed (weekly cleaners handle folding and bed-changing) • Errands Pets • Feed the cats; one long daily dog walk (30–40 min) • Help with the puppy’s ongoing training • Occasional groomer drop-off Driving — Riding • Drive our daughter to her riding barn in Langley 1–2 times a week and stay with her during her activity • No horse experience, handling, or barn chores required — just the drive and being there with her DESIRED PERSONALITY PROFILE Mature, grounded, organized, and warm. Someone who has done this kind of role before, takes initiative, anticipates what’s needed, and simply gets things done. SKILLS Experienced working in a private home — this is a role for someone who has genuinely done it before. Comfortable with simple, everyday home cooking; excellent time management; highly organized; experienced driver (5+ years, clean record). OTHER Valid BC driver’s license required (vehicle provided). Non-smoker. Comfortable with household pets (two dogs, two cats). Flexible, get-it-done attitude. Travel flexibility an asset (not a dealbreaker). COMPENSATION • Gross annual salary Competitive (commensurate with experience) • Extended health / dental benefits; RRSP matching • Vehicle provided for commute and work use (2020 Acura MDX); employee covers own gas for personal use and seeks permission to take the vehicle out of the city • 2 weeks paid vacation, plus the week between Christmas and New Year & 5 paid sick days
