We are proud to play a key role in accelerating Canada’s energy sustainability and achieving its net-zero goals and we recognize that our employees are our most valuable asset when it comes to achieving that goal. .About the role: As a CNC Machinist III, you will program and operate CNC machines using drawing files and packaged conversion software, set tooling, prepare fixtures and jigs, and machine precision components and parts that meet engineered drawing requirements within the time allotted by the Manufacturing Process Instruction. You will leverage advanced drawing interpretation skills, perform machine setup and troubleshooting, and plan and carry out preventative maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and production efficiency, while observing Risk Assessment requirements applicable to each operation and machine. You will report to the Shop Supervisor and be located onsite at our facility in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Main Responsibilities: Follow all Risk Assessment requirements for the equipment being used. Deliver acceptable parts in the time allowed. Support apprentices and CNC Operators in set up and operation of equipment. Offer advice to design group when requested. Recommend/adapt improvements in tools, processes and procedures. Manage part programme files complete with back up Contribute to Tool Box talks and other communications. Qualifications: Provincial trade license obtained 5 to 10 years experience Advanced ability to program, set up, and operate CNC machines using CNC machine software. Senior-level experience setting up, adjusting, and operating conventional machine tools and/or advanced-level experience operating CNC machines. Advanced ability to read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. Must have advanced knowledge of hand precision measuring tools and inspection techniques. Ability to plan, perform, and document preventative maintenance activities on machining equipment. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend process and tooling improvements. We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $67,500 to $84,250 per year.
