Overview of role: The Coordinator - Social Media is responsible for sourcing, capturing, editing and deploying content to the airline's social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok and Pinterest). The purpose of this role is to develop social content that engages our audiences through WestJet’s brand presence on social media, while contributing to WestJet's overall business goals. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, as working hours may vary depending on operational requirements and the needs of the business. Occasional evening, weekend, holiday, and event-based work may be required to capture and support social media content. Key Deliverables: In collaboration with other Social Media team members and stakeholders, manage the content calendar for WestJet's owned social media channels. Capture and/ or create high performing photo and video content for WestJet's social media channels. Edit photo and video content per WestJet's brand guidelines and channel best practices, including the development of social-first video for Instagram Reels and TikTok. Source user generated content (UGC) for WestJet's social channels. Support in developing and managing ongoing partnerships with content creators. Uphold the creative voice for WestJet, providing copywriting expertise for all social channels. Experience and qualifications: Diploma from a college or technical school or bachelor's degree 1-3 years’ experience planning and creating content for brand social media 1-3 years’ experience editing content for social media French as a second language is an asset, but not required Knowledge and skill: Understanding of brand social media for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and TikTok is essential. Excellent mobile photography & videography skills are required. Knowledge of creative social media best practices and a keen interest in travel and the airline industry is ideal.
