The Field Service Millwright is responsible for servicing pumps for Westpower’s customers throughout Western Canada. The position will be based in Edmonton. The position will be responsible for safely overseeing and assisting pump installations, removals and troubleshooting issues in the field including collecting data for various analysis and condition monitoring (vibration, tribology, etc.) Westpower offers rewarding experiences and unique growth opportunities in addition to the following. H2S Certificate, PST Certificate and WHMIS training would be an asset. 5 or more years of experience in a related field. Experience with API 610 Pumps, mechanical seals, and API seal flush plans. Ability to detect technical malfunctions and troubleshoot. Knowledge and experience with pumps and rotating equipment. Experience with laser alignment and vibration analysis. Knowledge of mechanical seals and auxiliary systems. Must be committed to safety in the field and shop. Computer literacy. Reading and interpreting of blueprints. Must have previous field experience. Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision. Key Duties and Responsibilities Travel to customer locations to troubleshoot and assess issues in the field. Be on-site to witness and support installations and start-ups. Support and direct on-site workers at customer facilities to adhere to proper techniques for specific equipment. Transfer knowledge and information to customer sites. Draft reports and communicate field information with Calgary and Grande Prairie Westpower locations. Adhere to and promote safe work practices of Westpower and the customer sites. Attend required safety training and read customer specific safety documents and policies. Any other job related, and support activity duties as required. Experience: millwright: 5 years (required) Pump and rotating equipment: 2 years (preferred) Willingness to travel: 75% (required) Work Location: On the road
