Résumé du poste
Company Description Whistler Year-Round Fishing is based in the scenic mountain town of Whistler, British Columbia, offering guided fishing experiences throughout the year. The team’s guides each have over a decade of experience fishing the surrounding local waters. The company focuses on nearby, highly productive lakes to maximize time spent fishing rather than driving. This specialized approach allows the guides to know a select group of local water bodies better than anyone else. As a result, Whistler Year-Round Fishing provides guests with efficient, high-quality outings backed by deep local expertise. Role Description The Fishing Guide role is a part-time, on-site position based in Whistler, BC. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading guests on guided fishing trips, selecting appropriate locations and gear, and providing instruction on techniques for different species and conditions. The guide will ensure guest safety, comfort, and enjoyment, while sharing knowledge about local wildlife and ecosystems. Additional duties include preparing equipment (including fly setups), maintaining boats and gear, and assisting with trip logistics and guest communication before and after outings. The guide is expected to uphold high standards of professionalism and service while representing Whistler Year-Round Fishing on the water and at the dock. Qualifications Strong fishing skills and practical experience on lakes and rivers in a guiding or instructional capacity. Proficiency in fly tying and related tackle preparation to support a variety of fishing conditions. Excellent communication and customer service skills to engage guests of diverse backgrounds and experience levels. Knowledge of local wildlife and aquatic ecosystems, with an emphasis on safe and sustainable outdoor practices. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and safely operate small watercraft where required. Current first aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain it prior to starting. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are an asset. Previous guiding, outdoor education, or tourism experience is preferred but not required.
