TRAINING OPPORTUNITY: OPEN TO REGISTERED RESPIRATORY THERAPISTS WHO ARE CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN THE ANESTHESIA ASSISTANT PROGRAM 600 hours clinical practicum paid. Job Summary Reporting to the Program Manager and/or designate, the Anesthesia Assistant is responsible and accountable for the provision of safe, effective, patient-focused care to patients. Anesthesiologists are involved in patient care pre-, intra- and post-operatively. During each phase of the perioperative period, anesthesiologists are assisted by dedicated and highly trained health care professionals. Anesthesia Assistants, as defined by the training and roles outlined in this document, are specially trained professionals whose activity should focus upon assisting the Anesthesiologist in the delivery of patient care during intraoperative and immediate perioperative period. The Anesthesia Assistant participates in the ongoing professional development of self and others, and in the division of perioperative services and hospital wide quality improvement initiatives. The Anesthesia Assistant is responsible for the application of current theory and research in the delivery of care consistent with the vision and values of the hospital and the standards of relevant professional organizations. The Anesthesia Assistant complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment. Provides clinical expertise to the patient/client in critical care and acute care while meeting the standards of practice. The incumbent is responsible for delivery of care consistent with the goals and objectives of the hospital and the standards of relevant professional organizations. Qualifications / Education Registered Respiratory Therapist (Ontario License) - required; Has completed additional training and education to work in specific field of practice as an Anesthesia Assistant – required; Current certification as an Anesthesia Assistant – required; B.C.L.S. - required; A.C.L.S. - preferred; Able to work all shifts, as required; Able to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary health care team; Demonstrated commitment to professional development; Commitment to and participation in Quality Enhancement activities; French language skills an asset Windsor Regional Hospital is an equal opportunity employer. Exigences

Candidates must be Registered Respiratory Therapists with an Ontario License and currently enrolled in or certified as an Anesthesia Assistant. B.C.L.S. certification is required, while A.C.L.S. is preferred.
