Job Summary The Registered Pharmacy Technician is responsible for the technical activities of the Pharmacy, acting under the direct supervision of the pharmacist. The incumbent is responsible for delivery of pharmaceutical care consistent with the vision and values of the hospital and the standards of practice as set forth by the Ontario College of Pharmacists. Duties include prescription data entry, drug packaging, technical verification of prescriptions, dosette preparation, and administration of influenza and COVID-19 vaccines. The Registered Pharmacy Technician complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the Hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment. Qualifications Previous hospital pharmacy experience – preferred 3 years recent, continuous experience in a community pharmacy environment - required Knowledge or experience of processing prescriptions involving third party drug plans - required Injection training – required Compression stocking fitter certification - preferred Knowledge of hospital and pharmacy policies and procedures Good reading, writing, mathematics, typing and oral communication skills Ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary health care team General good health and a level of fitness appropriate to the demands of the position French language skills an asset Education Graduate of an Accredited Registered Pharmacy Technician program - preferred Registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists - required Windsor Regional Hospital is an equal opportunity employer.
