Job Summary The Red Seal Heavy Duty Technician/Truck and Transport mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing underground/surface mobile equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations. This role performs preventative and corrective maintenance on loaders, haul trucks, drills, utility vehicles, and other mining equipment, while diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic issues. The technician completes maintenance documentation, follows all safety and regulatory requirements, and works collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams to maximize equipment availability and minimize downtime in an underground mining environment. Qualifications Interprovincial Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification or Interprovincial Truck and Transport Mechanic. Experience maintaining heavy mobile equipment, preferably in mining. Strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diagnostic troubleshooting skills. Ability to work in underground mining conditions, including confined spaces and varying temperatures. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly. Frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and bending. Ability to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and emergency call-ins as required. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and lifting devices safely. Working Conditions Underground mining and surface processing environment. Rotating shifts including days, afternoons and nights. Valid driver's license and ability to work underground and surface. Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, diesel emissions, and varying environmental conditions. Fast-paced environment with a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.
