Job Title: Education and Training Specialist Reports to: Director, Sustainability and Risk Management Type: Permanent, Full-Time Application Deadline: August 20, 2026 The Opportunity Reporting to the Director, Sustainability & Risk Management, the Education and Training Specialist is responsible for the development, coordination, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of corporate education and training programs that support regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and employee development. This role serves as WAA's lead administrator for the corporate Learning Management System (LMS) and works closely with leaders, subject matter experts, and departmental training champions to ensure employees receive effective, accessible, and compliant learning opportunities. The successful candidate is passionate about adult learning, enjoys translating complex requirements into engaging learning experiences, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include: Design, develop, implement, and maintain education, awareness, certification, and regulatory training programs Develop instructor-led, virtual, and e-learning content, including lesson plans, multimedia presentations, reference guides, procedures, and SCORM-compliant online learning modules Coordinate, deliver, and facilitate classroom, virtual, computer-based, recurrent, and train-the-trainer programs Administer and continuously improve WAA's corporate Learning Management System (LMS), including user support, troubleshooting, reporting, and vendor coordination Develops and implements annual training plans and training intake/requisition processes; Coordinate and schedule training, maintain accurate training records, and ensure documentation remains audit ready Monitor training compliance, prepare performance reports, and provide recommendations to improve participation and program effectiveness Evaluate training programs through audits, assessments, incident reviews, and participant feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement Collaborate with leaders and subject matter experts to ensure training programs remain aligned with legislative requirements, industry standards, and organizational objectives Identify innovative digital learning systems, platforms, and applications such as learning management systems (LMS), applicable AI and/or simulator training equipment and opportunities Support accessibility and accommodation requirements to ensure learning opportunities are inclusive and accessible; and Contribute to departmental planning, continuous improvement initiatives, and other duties as assigned Selection Criteria include: Post-secondary education in Adult Education, Education, Human Resources, Instructional Design, or a related discipline Minimum five (5) years of experience developing, delivering, coordinating, and evaluating training programs within a corporate or regulated environment Demonstrated experience administering and supporting a Learning Management System (LMS) and developing SCORM-compliant courses Experience developing instructor-led and e-learning content, including multimedia learning resources Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training evaluation Experience interpreting legislation, standards, policies, and compliance requirements and translating them into effective learning solutions Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to present information to diverse audiences Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and learning technologies; and Airport, transportation, regulatory, or project management experience is considered an asset Work with us!
