Position Overview Under the general supervision of and in collaboration with the Manager Health Services and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Clinical Resource Nurse (CRN) is responsible for providing clinical expertise to nurses. The CRN assumes a leadership role in coordinating patient care within the health care team, ensuring quality patient care outcomes, and promoting an interprofessional patient centered approach to care based on best practice. Experience Minimum two (2) years recent Nursing experience in a mother-baby combined care setting required. Charge Nurse experience required. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Certification/Licensure/Registration Current CRNM registration required. Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred. Annual BLS Level C Registration/Re-Registration is preferred. Qualifications and Skills Demonstrated effective verbal and written communications skills required. Demonstrated effective organizational, interpersonal, critical thinking/problem-solving, leadership and decision-making skills in response to a variety of simultaneous demands required. Demonstrated teaching ability required. Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA). Applicants will be assessed against the following selection criteria, as applicable to the position: experience, education, experience, patient care and clinical knowledge/skills, leadership skills, communication and interpersonal skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, quality improvement, teaching skills, research knowledge, professional development and seniority. Physical Requirements Not Applicable This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement. This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. Candidates must have at least two years of recent nursing experience in a mother-baby setting and prior charge nurse experience. A Bachelor of Nursing degree is preferred, and current CRNM registration is required.
