School Caretakers We are currently accepting applications for the Substitute Caretakers. Positions on the Substitute Caretaker roster are used to replace permanent staff that are on vacation, sick leave or professional development. Applying to this posting is your first step in starting your career with Winnipeg School Division. You will be assigned a 6-month term that will be renewed until you are placed in a permanent position. Substitute Caretaker Positions Are full-time (40 hours/week), no part-time or casual positions Monday to Friday various day and evening shifts (8 hours shifts with various starting times from 6:00 am with the last shift starting at 3:00 pm) 6-month terms with the possibility of renewal and placement into a permanent position dispatched daily and located at various schools and buildings throughout Winnipeg School Division 85% cleaning and 15% boiler maintenance Qualifications Minimum 1 year of experience in the field of building cleaning maintenance along with knowledge of and exposure to commercial cleaning products or equipment preferred. Will consider those who have completed the 5th Class Power Engineer's course but will need to complete Provincial Exam and/or boiler hours. Valid Fifth (5th) Class Power Engineer's Certificate or higher (document to be attached). Valid Class 5F Manitoba Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle preferred. Ability to read, write and speak English in order to identify and interpret oral and written documentation relating to the job requirements, methods, procedures and policies of Winnipeg School Division and communicate effectively with the supervisors, school staff, students and visiting public.
