Maintenance Supervisor (Afternoons 3pm-11:00pm)

Winpak Division is looking for an Afternoon Maintenance Supervisor (3:00pm-11:00pm) our Maintenance team plays a critical role in ensuring our manufacturing operations run reliably, safely, and efficiently every day. Reporting to the Maintenance Electrical and Facilities Manager, you will oversee a team of electricians, millwrights, power engineers, and maintenance team members, coordinating daily priorities, assigning work, and ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely and effectively. Key Responsibilities: Lead and Support the Maintenance Team * Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and support to afternoon shift maintenance employees, including electricians, millwrights, power engineers, and maintenance team members * Assign and prioritize incoming and carry-over work orders to ensure the team is focused on the highest business priorities. * Conduct effective shift handovers, toolbox talks, and safety meetings while maintaining clear communication with production and the incoming night shift. * Foster a positive, collaborative team environment by coaching employees, promoting accountability, and supporting safe work practices. Coordinate Maintenance Operations * Plan, coordinate, and monitor corrective and preventative maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime. * Partner with Production to schedule maintenance activities and equipment shutdowns while balancing operational priorities. * Coordinate contractor work and ensure maintenance work orders, requisitions, and follow-up activities are completed accurately and on time. * Monitor maintenance housekeeping standards and ensure work is completed efficiently and to quality expectations. Promote Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement * Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. * Investigate workplace incidents, identify corrective actions, and follow through to prevent recurrence. * Administer company policies and the collective agreement as required while maintaining fair and consistent leadership practices. * Prepare reports, complete employee time approvals, and support ongoing continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department. Required Qualifications * 5+ years of experience supporting maintenance operations within a manufacturing or industrial facility * 3+ years of experience in a formal or informal leadership role that required coaching, guiding and training team members * 3+ years of experience in a role that required coordinating maintenance activities, and effectively delegate work assignments * Strong understanding of industrial maintenance practices, preventative maintenance programs, and equipment troubleshooting. * Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across departments. Preferred Qualifications * Certification as a Millwright or Industrial Electrician * Previous supervisory experience within a unionized manufacturing environment. * Experience coordinating maintenance activities across multiple skilled trades, including mechanical, electrical, utilities, or power engineering teams. * Familiarity with CMMS/work order management systems and continuous improvement practices is an asset. The Maintenance Supervisor leads the afternoon shift maintenance team to ensure manufacturing operations run safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include coordinating daily work orders, managing equipment reliability, and fostering a collaborative, safety-focused team environment.

Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance and 3 years in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance practices and equipment troubleshooting is required, with professional trade certification preferred.
