See more positions Business Location: Strathroy, Ontario Position Type: Full Time Category: Farming / Fishing / Forestry Work Place Location: In Person Hours: Monday-Friday, approximately 40-50 hours per week, 6:00 am-3:30 pm 2 weekends per month, hours dependent on workload Job Description Hadren Farms is a small family business and a new enterprise, that just recently finished building a early-wean sow barn. We are based in the Strathroy area and our looking for one more member to join our small work team. We are looking for someone to primarily work in the farrowing end of the barn, but to assist with breeding and other tasks as needed. Job Description: Feed farrowing sows Monitor and assist with farrowings Treat sows and piglets Make decisions for fostering piglets and general piglet care Feed, breed, vaccinate and move sows as needed Process piglets Assess health of animals and treat as needed Wean and ship piglets Hours: Monday-Friday, approximately 40-50 hours per week, 6:00 am-3:30 pm 2 weekends per month, hours dependent on workload Education Not Applicable Qualifications Experience Required We Are Looking For Someone Who: Has a reliable vehicle to drive to barn outside of Strathroy Has a minimum of a high school diploma Has a positive attitude and is willing to learn Is very detail-oriented and organized Is capable of simple math Can take charge of their role and make daily decisions with guidance from the team Enjoys working with animals and wants to achieve success Enjoys working on a small team Is detail oriented and organized Can work independently or in a team Truly cares about the welfare of the animals Compensation And Benefits Starting wage $23-25/hr, depending on experience How to Apply You must be logged in to access this information.
