The Opportunity Senior Financial Analyst, Public Reporting Reporting to the Manager, Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst will be a key member of the finance team overseeing Canadian and U.S. residential portfolios, with responsibility for financial management, reporting, and accounting for publicly listed funds. The role serves as a critical first line of defense for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of public reporting, with high visibility to senior executives and finance leadership. It also oversees fund accounting and internal reporting while partnering with asset management, investments, and leasing teams to provide timely, accurate, and insightful financial and operational information that supports decision-making and maximizes investor returns. Key Responsibilities: Investor Reporting and Financial Reporting Responsible for initial drafting IFRS financial statements, MD&A, and other public disclosures for TSX and TSXV listed entities. Ownership of review process of quarterly public documents through each reporting cycle. Management of Workiva software to draft financials, including roll-forward of financial files and updates to standard reporting models. Financial Accounting Oversee completion of month-end close ensuring accuracy, timeliness and completeness of financial results for multiple listed funds and other funds, as required. Maintain General Ledger and other support for full monthly financial close, including journal entries and analysis as required to ensure the integrity of financial and operational information. Manage and assist with audit process for funds, as well as support quarterly/year-end reviews as required Financial Analysis Review and analyze monthly reporting for your funds to understand key variances and communicate to internal stakeholders for each property, including ensuring commentary reflects the underlying performance of the assets. Ensure technology tools reflect the right outputs to internal stakeholders by partnering with other internal departments. Assist with the review of budgets and analysis for budget inputs for the properties as part of each annual budgeting cycle. Assist with other financial management initiatives or ad-hoc projects, as required. AI and Technology Adoption Act as an early adopter and role model for AI and automation within the team, treating these tools as a core part of how work gets done. Proactively apply approved AI tools to enhance the efficiency and quality of accounting, analysis and reporting workflows, and help turn those gains into repeatable processes. Identify, test and help implement AI-enabled process improvements, sharing learnings with peers and more junior staff. Apply strong professional judgment to review and validate AI-assisted output, safeguarding accuracy, data integrity and compliance. Transaction support Provide support on financial aspects of property acquisitions, dispositions, and property financing activities and other business transactions, as required. Perform acquisition, disposition and refinancing accounting. Cash and Debt Management Assist with the management of cash availability, including review of cash position reporting prepared by the treasury team to ensure accurate cash reporting and forecasting Assist with the management of the partnership’s debt portfolios, including ensuring all loan provisions are appropriately complied with and any covenant reporting is accurate, timely and complete. Qualifications We’re looking for a driven finance professional with 2–4 years of accounting and public financial reporting experience including preparation of financial statements, note disclosures and MD&A, and who holds a CPA designation or is nearing completion. The ideal candidate brings solid Excel skills, with Yardi, Workiva, and ERP experience considered an asset, and is excited to leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance processes and drive innovation. Beyond technical expertise, you’ll be a strong communicator and analytical thinker who is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and resourceful, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively with both senior leaders and cross-functional teams. The compensation structure is comprised of a base salary that is market competitive and based on factors such as experience, education, designations, and skillset.
