We’re currently seeking a Nitrogen Operator to join our dynamic team based out of Grande Prairie, AB. Position Summary: The Nitrogen Operator is responsible for safely executing field operations related to nitrogen pumping services. This role supports the successful setup, monitoring, and operation of nitrogen equipment while ensuring full compliance with WSG safety protocols and customer expectations. Key Responsibilities: Field Operations: Perform nitrogen pumping activities under the direction of the Supervisor or Lead Hand. Assist with rig-in/rig-out processes, equipment setup, and hose connections. Monitor gauges and system performance during operations; immediately report abnormalities. Support troubleshooting by communicating equipment behavior and adjustments. Safety & Compliance: Follow all company and client-specific safety policies and site protocols. Participate in daily safety meetings, JSAs, FLHAs, and toolbox talks. Wear required PPE and maintain awareness of surroundings at all times. Promptly report near misses, unsafe acts, or incidents. Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively with crew members to complete tasks safely and efficiently. Accept direction from supervisors while demonstrating initiative and reliability. Mentor newer operators when applicable, sharing experience and best practices. Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate nitrogen pumping units under supervision, monitor pressure levels and assist in tasks. Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of equipment and vehicles. Complete minor maintenance such as greasing, filter changes, and fluid checks. Communicate equipment issues to appropriate personnel. Documentation & Regulatory Compliance: Assist in completing job-related paperwork (JSAs, timesheets, trip logs, etc.). Ensure accurate, legible, and timely submission of documentation. Comply with DOT/Transport Canada regulations related to driving and loadouts. Maintain up-to-date safety certifications (e.g., TDG, WHMIS, H2S Alive, First Aid). Shop & Yard Support: Assist with cleaning, staging, and maintenance of nitrogen units. Support equipment prep, loading/unloading, and mechanical tasks as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Operational Readiness: Support job prep efforts including field kit setup and tool cleaning. Participate in training, safety sessions, and operational reviews. Represent WSG Energy Services professionally in both field and shop settings. Qualifications: Previous experience operating nitrogen equipment or related oilfield service is preferred. Valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver’s license (with clean abstract) is an asset. Required safety certifications: H2S Alive, First Aid, TDG, WHMIS (must be current or willing to obtain). Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and remote field locations. Strong team player with effective communication and situational awareness.
