Provide technical leadership and strategic direction in the development, application, and advancement of modelling tools and frameworks. Develop and refine conceptual models, synthesize complex datasets, and apply numerical modelling approaches that support sound scientific and regulatory outcomes. Collaborate with hydrologists, geochemists, hydrogeologists, permitting specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated environmental solutions. Author and review technical reports, proposals, and presentations that communicate complex findings to clients, regulators, and stakeholders. Support business growth through client engagement, proposal development, and trusted technical advisory services. Represent WSP during client meetings, regulatory consultations, and industry forums while strengthening our reputation as a leader in environmental consulting. Mentor and develop junior and intermediate team members, helping to build future technical leaders within the organization. The Skills That Set You Apart MSc or PhD in Water Quality Modelling, Environmental Engineering, Aquatic Geochemistry, or a related discipline. 10+ years of progressive experience delivering hydrodynamic and water quality modelling projects, ideally within the mining or natural resource sectors. Demonstrated expertise with modelling platforms such as CE-QUAL-W2, Delft3D, MIKE, WASP, GoldSim, CORMIX, or equivalent tools. Strong understanding of conceptual model development, numerical modelling methodologies, and environmental data interpretation. Proven experience leading complex projects, managing client relationships, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams. Strong familiarity with Canadian environmental assessment, permitting, and regulatory processes, particularly within mining. Exceptional technical writing, presentation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
