We are currently looking for Wellness Coach to join our team of committed professionals. This Part-Time position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Durham location in Sudbury. Under the leadership of the Supervisor of Health & Wellness, the Wellness Coach provides direct one-on-one health and wellness assessment, program development along with wellness coaching. This job is also responsible for using Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Relationship Based Change, and Action and Commitment Therapy to assist clients through the stages of behaviour change. START DATE: As Soon As Possible LOCATION: Durham, Sudbury RATE OF PAY: $ 18.27 / Hourly HOURS: 10 Hours / Weekly Major Responsibilities Based on member consultations and the accepted best practices, design personalized wellness coach programs for clients using Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Relationship Based Change, Action and Commitment Therapy Motivate and inspire clients to attain goals related to exercise, nutrition and stress Proactively recruit members as wellness coaching clients Maintain effective communication with clients and YMCA staff Respond to members inquiries regarding programs and or equipment promptly Schedule appointments for self and other staff on the fitness floor Accurately track all sessions conducted with clients Incorporate SAM Standards into daily responsibilities Build relationships with members and guests, and promote the YMCA as a charitable organization Qualifications Possession of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) College diploma or University degree in sociology, psychology, or social work are considered an asset. WHMIS Certification YMCA Wellness Coach (or equivalent) in good standing Minimum of three (3) months of assisting clients through stages of behaviour change experience required Excellent verbal and written communication skills Basic computer skills Excellent interpersonal skills Self-motivated and a strong team player Ability to meet deadlines Excellent organizational and time management skills Excellent customer service skills Solid knowledge of community resources Crisis management skills Current Standard First Aid and CPR C Current and satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector What We Offer As a charity and community-based organization, we know how important connection and wellness is, and we offer a workplace that invests in people. Exigences
