We invest in our team members by offering: Competitive hourly pay rate of $21.65–$28.00 (inclusive of provincial and federal grants) Additional $0.50/hour split shift premium Complimentary YMCA Membership Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for you and your immediate family Health Care Spending Account (HCSA) Professional development and career advancement opportunities The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families every day Location: Various School Sites throughout Oakville, Ontario Hours of Work: School Year, Part-Time position, Monday to Friday: 7:00am to 9:00am and/or 2:30pm to 6:00pm (Hours may vary based on individual school schedules) What You'll Do As a Child Care Educator, you will: Plan and deliver engaging before and after school programs for children aged 3.8–12 years Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported Implement the YMCA curriculum while adapting activities to meet children's individual interests and developmental needs Build positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, volunteers, and placement students Supervise children while maintaining attendance, health, and safety standards Support snack and meal service while maintaining cleanliness and organization Follow YMCA policies, Ministry of Education requirements, and Child Care & Early Years Act regulations Requirements We're looking for someone who has: Possess a diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), OCT or Child and Youth Care/Worker or Recreation and Leisure Services or Social Services or equivalent related field Experience working with children aged 4–12 years Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills A commitment to creating inclusive environments that celebrate diversity A professional, reliable, and confidential approach to their work Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C (Infant/Child) A Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the last six months The position requires candidates to demonstrate the Association's Core Competencies: Quality Focus, Relationship Building and Collaboration, Commitment to the Organization's Mission, Vision and Values, Communication, Diversity and Inclusion, and Integrity and Trust.
