Leading aquatic excellence in our community Provide strategic and operational leadership for aquatic facilities, foster a culture of safety, service, and continuous improvement while enhancing member experiences and supporting the YMCA’s mission-driven impact. QUICK FACTS * Compensation: $28.83 per hour * Paid vacation, wellness, and family responsibility days * Extended health and dental benefits * Membership to Y facilities for self and family * Annual Y pension of 5% (after 2 years) * Reporting to: Senior Manager, Aquatics * Team: 4-5 direct reports, 45-140 indirect reports * Location: Kelowna Family Y or H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre (2 openings, one at each centre) * Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week, variable schedule including evening and weekends when required This role is ideal for a people-focused aquatics leader who excels at building teams, ensuring safety, and delivering exceptional member experiences. WHAT YOU WILL DO As an Aquatic Manager, you will lead the daily operations, staff, safety, and service excellence of YSIBC aquatic facilities, ensuring high-quality programs and exceptional experiences for members, guests, and employees. * Lead safe, high-performing aquatic operations that deliver exceptional experiences for members, guests, and staff. * Develop, coach, and inspire aquatics teams to achieve excellence in service, safety, and program delivery. * Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and regulatory standards, fostering a culture of accountability and risk management. * Create welcoming and engaging member experiences by proactively addressing needs, concerns, and opportunities for improvement. * Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance program quality, operational effectiveness, and member satisfaction. * Collaborate across departments to support seamless facility operations and strengthen community impact. * Optimize staffing and resources to ensure reliable, efficient, and high-quality service delivery. * Contribute to organizational growth and sustainability by identifying opportunities to increase participation, engagement, and revenue. WHAT YOU BRING * Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Aquatics, or equivalent long term work experience in aquatics field. * 3+ years of experience leading aquatics, recreation, or service operations. * Current National Lifeguard and Standard First-Aid certifications. * Current CPR-C certification, within one year (facility specific standard). * Expertise in aquatic safety, compliance, and operational excellence. * Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams. * Experience managing budgets, resources, staff scheduling, and service delivery. * Strong communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
