About Us: ZenaTech is a Nasdaq-listed technology company focused on AI drone, Drone as a Service (DaaS), and Enterprise SaaS solutions for mission-critical applications for business and governments. We are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of drone applications across various industries, including defense, agriculture, logistics and commercial in applications like traffic management, wildfire response, environmental monitoring, border control and industrial inspections. This role will be at our 250 University Ave, Toronto, ON M5H 3E5 Office location. Job Overview: As Team Lead, you will play a critical role in leading our SaaS M&A pipeline: mentoring a team of analysts to identify acquisition opportunities among SaaS companies, building and maintaining our SaaS M&A target pipeline of private companies, and leading initial calls and early-stage discussions with prospective sellers. A successful candidate is expected to have excellent communication skills, strong people-leadership and coaching ability, project and time management skills, relationship management, and be extremely organized, with the judgment to prioritize opportunities across the team's pipeline and mentor team members. The role is unique as you will be engaged in deal origination from initial identification to preliminary evaluation and initial call, , while developing the junior analysts who support that pipeline. This role requires the candidate to be on-site at the office during all business days. Remote or hybrid arrangements are not available for this position. Prior experience in deal-sourcing or business development team, together with exposure to SaaS deal sourcing or screening, is strongly preferred but not mandatory. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with a team of analysts supporting the SaaS M&A pipeline Identify potential target M&A opportunities among SaaS companies and evaluate their fit with existing business models Build and maintain a detailed opportunity funnel across the team to ensure a steady deal flow Build and maintain a detailed M&A broker contact list, with a focus on SaaS-sector brokers and advisors Gather information related to SaaS M&A target companies via publicly available information Build and maintain internal databases, and regularly update senior leadership on team pipeline and deal volume Maintain team goals and priorities, target accounts, and coach analysts' work for quality and consistency Independently schedule and lead meetings and negotiations with potential targets and senior management Build and maintain relationships with potential sellers and brokers in the SaaS ecosystem Identify and evaluate SaaS industry verticals for investment opportunities Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; MBA or equivalent experience a plus Excellent communication, relationship management, and project management skills. Ability to coach junior colleagues and work independently with minimal supervision, and drive deal volume in a fast-paced environment. Ability to adapt to the needs of a fast growing technology company 3+ years of full-time experience in Sales, Corporate Development, or Business Development is helpful Prior exposure to deal sourcing, screening, or execution in the SaaS sector (e.g., in investment banking, private equity, or corporate M&A) is strongly preferred Why Join Us?
