About ZETA Electric Boilers ZETA Electric Boilers supplies high-capacity, medium-voltage electrode steam and hot-water boilers for industrial, institutional, power-generation and district-energy applications. ZETA supports projects throughout their lifecycle, including equipment selection, engineering coordination, procurement, manufacturing, regulatory documentation, installation, commissioning and long-term operational support. Position Overview ZETA is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead the sourcing and procurement of boilers, pressure equipment, electrical systems, mechanical components, instrumentation, fabrication services and other project requirements across North and South American projects. Reporting to senior management, the Procurement Manager will take ownership of procurement from supplier identification and bid evaluation through purchase-order placement, manufacturing follow-up, logistics, delivery and commercial closeout. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, manufacturers, suppliers, contractors and clients to ensure equipment and services are purchased accurately, competitively, on schedule and in accordance with contractual and technical requirements. This role requires strong industrial procurement experience, commercial judgment, technical-documentation skills and an understanding of the full project lifecycle. The Procurement Manager will proactively identify and resolve cost, schedule, quality, logistics and supplier-performance risks. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute procurement plans that support approved project schedules, budgets, scopes and technical requirements. Lead procurement activities for electric boiler projects through sourcing, purchasing, manufacturing, delivery, installation, start-up and commissioning. Identify, evaluate, qualify and develop suppliers for pressure vessels, valves, pumps, instrumentation, electrical equipment, control panels, structural fabrication, piping components and related services. Prepare and issue requests for quotation, coordinate technical clarifications, compare bids and develop commercial and technical recommendations. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, documentation requirements, freight terms and other commercial conditions. Prepare, issue and administer purchase orders and subcontracts, ensuring scope, specifications, deliverables, milestones and commercial terms are clearly defined. Provide manufacturers and suppliers with clear technical, quality, commercial, regulatory and documentation requirements. Coordinate with mechanical and electrical engineers to review supplier drawings, datasheets, quotations, technical submittals and deviations for completeness and compliance. Develop and maintain procurement plans, bid lists, purchasing schedules, cost trackers, expediting reports, action lists, risk registers and supplier-performance records. Monitor manufacturing progress, long-lead items, inspection points, document submissions and delivery milestones, and expedite suppliers when required. Coordinate logistics, customs documentation, shipping, freight providers, delivery sequencing and equipment receipt from domestic and international suppliers. Track procurement commitments, actual costs, forecasts and potential variances against approved budgets. Identify supply-chain risks, cost increases, quality concerns and delivery delays early and coordinate practical solutions. Manage procurement-related scope changes and ensure additional costs, credits and schedule impacts are identified, negotiated, approved and documented. Resolve commercial issues, supplier non-performance, manufacturing delays, shipping constraints and material shortages in collaboration with the project team. Conduct regular procurement reviews and communicate supplier status, risks, decisions, savings opportunities and outstanding actions to project teams and senior management. Maintain organized procurement records, including RFQs, quotations, bid evaluations, purchase orders, correspondence, drawings, inspection documents, shipping records, invoices and closeout documentation. Support quality assurance by confirming that purchased equipment and supplier deliverables meet contractual, regulatory and technical requirements. Coordinate supplier documentation required for pressure equipment, electrical systems, inspections, certifications, customs clearance and regulatory approvals. Support invoice review, milestone-payment verification, claims resolution, supplier closeout, warranty tracking and lessons learned. Support project scopes, proposals, equipment estimates, procurement budgets, sourcing strategies and preliminary schedules when required. Represent ZETA professionally in meetings with clients, suppliers, contractors, engineering partners, logistics providers and regulatory stakeholders. Qualifications and Experience Five to ten years of experience in procurement, supply chain, purchasing, project procurement or a related industrial environment. A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering or a related field. Experience procuring industrial equipment, boilers, energy systems, utilities, pressure equipment, process systems, electrical equipment or engineered-to-order components. Practical knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier qualification, RFQs, bid evaluation, negotiation, purchase orders, contract administration, expediting, logistics and commercial closeout. Experience working with engineering teams and suppliers through design, procurement, manufacturing, inspection, delivery, installation, start-up and commissioning. Demonstrated ability to manage procurement schedules, budgets, technical scope, documentation and competing deadlines. Strong negotiation, supplier-management, commercial-analysis and stakeholder-coordination skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate technical and commercial requirements. Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a disciplined approach to cost and risk management. Mandarin-language proficiency to support communication and negotiations with international engineering and manufacturing partners. A reliable, detail-oriented approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Availability to work on a hybrid basis from ZETA’s Richmond Hill office. Preferred Qualifications Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical drawings, mechanical drawings, datasheets, bills of materials, equipment schedules and technical specifications. Experience with procurement or ERP systems, advanced Excel, cost analysis and supplier-performance reporting. Familiarity with Incoterms, customs documentation, international freight, duties and cross-border procurement. Experience negotiating supply agreements, fabrication subcontracts, warranties, payment milestones and commercial change orders. Familiarity with electrode boilers, pressure vessels, steam systems, hot-water systems or medium-voltage electrical equipment. Knowledge of CRN, CSA, ASME, NRTL and other applicable regulatory or certification requirements. Experience supporting supplier inspections, factory acceptance testing, commissioning and regulatory-approval processes. Experience working with quality-assurance and document-control systems. Supply Chain Management Professional, Certified Professional in Supply Management, PMP or a similar certification. Other Requirements Ability to travel to client sites, manufacturing facilities, supplier locations and third-party offices when required. Ability to work effectively with suppliers and project partners across Canada, the United States, South America, Europe and Asia. Strong technical writing, documentation, presentation, negotiation and meeting-management skills. Proficiency with standard office, procurement and project-management software. Ability to manage multiple priorities, suppliers and deadlines in a growing, fast-moving organization.
