Our client is seeking a passionate and hands-on Dairy Barn Manager to lead their dairy operations while working alongside a dedicated team and supportive leadership group. Duties and Responsibilities: Operations & Production: Oversee the day-to-day operations of a progressive dairy farm. Drive milk production, herd performance, and operational efficiency. Monitor production metrics, herd records, and key performance indicators. Coordinate breeding programs and collaborate with veterinarians, nutritionists, and other industry partners. Oversee equipment, facilities, and maintenance while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Animal Health & Welfare Ensure exceptional standards of animal care, health, and welfare. Oversee herd health programs, treatments, calving support, and culling decisions. Maintain accurate production, health, and compliance records. Leadership & Team Development Lead, coach, and develop a team of dairy employees. Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management. Foster a positive, collaborative culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Financial & Business Management Manage operational budgets and monitor financial performance. Prepare reports, track operational goals, and support long-term business planning. Health, Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, animal welfare, and dairy industry regulations. Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance programs. Education: Diploma or degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Dairy Management, Business Management, Agricultural Business, or a related field is considered an asset. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience working within dairy operations. Previous leadership or management experience within a dairy or agricultural environment. Strong understanding of dairy herd management, animal husbandry, nutrition, and milk production. Experience managing operational budgets and business performance. Familiarity with herd management software and modern dairy technology is considered an asset. Skills: Hands-on leader who leads by example and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves alongside the team. Strong work ethic with a proactive, “go-getter” mentality and a willingness to take initiative. Passion for agriculture, animal care, and continuous improvement. Positive, solutions-focused mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities. Ability to motivate, coach, and develop a high-performing team while fostering a collaborative culture. Highly organized with strong planning, prioritization, and time management skills. Adaptable and resourceful, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with employees, veterinarians, suppliers, and industry partners. Committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and animal welfare. Self-motivated with a desire to learn, grow, and contribute to the long-term success of the operation. Base Salary: $120,000+ per year Salary based on experience. Comprehensive benefits package. Relocation assistance available for the successful candidate. Significant subsidized housing opportunity, including utilities. Company-provided cell phone. Food allowance provided. Use of a farm vehicle for work-related purposes while on-site. Work Hours: Approximately 50 hours per week, with flexibility required based on operational needs. Availability required for both weekdays and weekends. Some evening work may be required to support farm operations. This is a hands-on leadership role within a 24/7 agricultural environment, where flexibility and a team-first mindset are essential.
