Role Description The Instructor Therapist is a contract, on-site role based in Toronto, ON. This role involves delivering one-on-one and small-group behavioral therapy sessions using evidence-based approaches, such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), under the supervision of a clinical lead. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing individualized treatment plans, collecting and recording data on client progress, and assisting in the development of goals and intervention strategies. The Instructor Therapist communicates regularly with supervisors and families, participates in team meetings and training, and helps maintain a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment. The role may also involve preparing session materials, supporting transitions, and contributing to progress reports as needed. Qualifications Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral therapy principles and practices, preferably including ABA, and experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams. Organizational and observational skills, including accurate data collection, documentation, and attention to detail in following treatment plans. Ability to maintain professionalism in challenging situations, apply de-escalation techniques, and support positive behavior and skill development. Relevant education in psychology, behavior analysis, social work, child development, education, or a related field; certification or training as an Instructor Therapist or Registered Behavior Technician is an asset. Commitment to evidence-based practice, ongoing learning, and adherence to ethical and confidentiality standards in clinical settings. Availability to work on-site in Toronto, ON, with flexibility to meet client scheduling needs; clear background check and any required immunizations or credentials.
