About Alacrity Canada: Alacrity Canada is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the growth of Canadian technology companies through market access, skill development, investment readiness and international expansion. With a focus on sustainability, innovation and entrepreneurship, Alacrity provides programs and resources that enable companies to scale globally while creating positive economic and environmental impact. About the Role: We help start-ups grow and connect them with the corporate, industry, and government partners who can take them further. Our leadership team is out building those relationships every week, and we're looking for someone to work right alongside us and help drive them forward. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to learn business development from the inside. You'll be in the middle of everything: shaping proposals, running the follow-ups, keeping our partners engaged, and making sure opportunities don't slip. When a deal is moving, you're one of the reasons it keeps moving. You won't be stuck behind a desk either. You'll get in front of partners and out to events, representing Alacrity and keeping conversations going. It's a real seat at the table, and a strong launch pad for someone who wants to build a career in business development, partnerships, or growth. You'll work closely with our Director of Growth and CEO and be a driving force in getting deals executed. We’re looking for someone organized and reliable, motivated by supporting entrepreneurs, and understands the many stakeholders that it takes to make an entrepreneur succeed. Key Responsibilities: Support the full sales cycle, from prospecting and closing through to account management Manage partner and stakeholder relationships across corporates, funders, and the wider ecosystem, keeping things moving so nothing gets dropped between the first meeting and delivery Draft and put together proposals, agreements, and follow-up materials for corporate, industry, and government partners Keep Salesforce current, and flag anything that needs attention Set up meetings, build the agendas, and stay on top of the follow-ups afterward Handle day-to-day admin: email and calendar management, scheduling, and keeping files and documents organized Help surface and shape new opportunities, thinking a step ahead and bringing a problem-solving mindset Represent Alacrity at events, conferences, and partner meetings Help with marketing that supports business development, like outreach materials, LinkedIn posts, and one-pagers Support the Director of Growth and CEO as opportunities come up, and own the execution end to end on an as-needed basis Take on ad-hoc projects as they arise Requirements: A bachelor's degree in business, commerce, marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience 3 to 5 years in a business development, partnerships, account management, or fundraising role Fundraising experience across both the for-profit and non-profit worlds, whether that's investment, sponsorship, grants, or partner funding Experience supporting ventures, start-ups, or the tech sector, and comfortable in that world Comfortable with CRMs; Salesforce experience is a plus A clear writer who can turn rough notes into a clean proposal or agenda Able to attend events and travel across Canada and other regions when needed Who You Are: Strategic and entrepreneurial.
