Licensed Practical Nurse

Your Opportunity: Reporting to the Manager of ER, the Licensed Practical Nurse performs a variety of nursing duties in a fast-paced, high stress environment. The successful candidate will administer safe and effective nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and nursing care standards. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. The shift hours for this position are 07:30 – 19:45 and 19:30 – 07:45. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications: Minimum 3 years recent acute care experience Minimum 2 years recent ER experience Connect Care Experience As required Preferred Qualifications: Recent 2 years ER experience.

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides safe and effective nursing care within a fast-paced emergency department. Responsibilities include utilizing nursing processes to support patient well-being, health promotion, and family-centered care.

Candidates must have an accredited practical nurse education and active registration with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta. A minimum of 3 years of acute care and 2 years of ER experience, along with BCLS-HCP certification, is required.
