Our team of skilled, caring staff work together to create a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment where residents feel valued and supported every day.Overview:Join our dynamic team as a Maintenance Worker and become a vital part of ensuring our facility operates smoothly, safely, and efficiently. In this energetic role, you will take charge of routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and inspections across our property. Your proactive approach will help maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment that supports our team's productivity and well-being of our residents. We value dedicated individuals who thrive on problem-solving and take pride in their work.Responsibilities:Under the direction of the Director of Maintenance, maintain grounds including mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, shovel snow. Perform routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems to identify maintenance needs and ensure safety standards are met.Perform repairs and maintenance to exterior and interior of building including minor repairs to equipment, routine & preventative maintenance to residents rooms and common areas.Unload incoming supplies from trucks and store supplies in designated areas.Assist with setup and breakdown for events or special projects as needed.Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used.Respond swiftly to urgent maintenance requests to minimize downtime and disruptions.Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks and ensure all safety protocols are followed.Requirements:Valid Nova Scotia Class 5 drivers licenseAbility to work flexible hours/shiftsProven experience in general maintenance or repair work in a commercial or residential settingKnowledge of basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and safety proceduresGood knowledge of building systemsStrong physical stamina to perform manual tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces, painting, garbage handlingAbility to troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently and accuratelyExcellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and report issues clearlyCertification or training in relevant trades (e.g., electrician's license, HVAC certification) is a plus but not mandatoryA proactive attitude with a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and qualityEmbark on a rewarding career where your skills make a tangible difference every day!
