Overview Artemis Gold is a well-financed, growth-oriented gold development company with strong financials aimed at creating shareholder value through the identification, acquisition, and development of gold properties in mining friendly jurisdictions. The Company's current focus is the Blackwater Mine in central British Columbia approximately 160km southwest of Prince George and 450km northeast of Vancouver. Reporting to the IT Superintendent, the IT Support Technician is responsible for delivering high-quality technical support to staff and ensuring the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of IT systems and networks. This role requires strong communication skills, a customer service–focused mindset, and a solid technical foundation across computer hardware, operating systems, business applications, and network environments. Location: Blackwater Mine Site Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation Responsibilities Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems. Deliver responsive, professional support to end users across four BC locations via the helpdesk ticketing system, phone, email, remote support tools, and in-person interactions. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures to reduce recurrence. Provision, modify, and revoke user access to systems and applications in accordance with security best practices using Azure Active Directory and related tools. Install, configure, and maintain workstations, software, and peripheral devices, ensuring systems remain secure, compliant, and up to date. Provide end-user guidance and develop clear, user-friendly documentation to support self-service and improve overall technology adoption. Collaborate with IT team members and stakeholders to enhance service delivery, streamline processes, and improve the overall user experience. Monitor and maintain IT systems proactively, identifying risks and recommending improvements, upgrades, or remediation where required. Maintain accurate records of IT assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and lifecycle status. Escalate complex or unresolved issues to senior IT personnel with thorough documentation and context to support efficient resolution. Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including knowledge base articles, system configurations, and standard operating procedures. Contribute to IT initiatives and projects, including system upgrades, deployments, and continuous improvement efforts. May be required to maintain a clean-shaven appearance (i.e. no facial hair) to ensure the safe and effective use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) associated with assigned duties. Qualifications Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience. Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network +, ITIL Foundation, Microsoft (e.g., MS-900), Cisco (e.g., CCNA), or Fortinet are considered an asset. Minimum three years of experience in an IT support or service desk role, preferably supporting a diverse, multi-site user environment. Experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure, network systems, server hardware, and industrial or Operational Technology (OT) environments is considered an asset. Strong hands-on expertise with Windows operating systems and endpoint hardware troubleshooting. Demonstrated experience administering and supporting Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, and Office applications). Solid understanding of core networking concepts, including VPNs, firewalls, IP addressing, DHCP, and DNS. Working knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, including malware mitigation, authentication controls, and data protection practices. Experience using ticketing systems, remote support tools, and standard business applications. Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, both onsite and remotely. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical users and deliver a high standard of customer service. Demonstrates professionalism, sound judgment, and composure under pressure, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands. Proven ability to work collaboratively with IT team members and business stakeholders to resolve issues and support operational objectives. Follows established deployment procedures, including confirming management approvals and ensuring rollback plans are documented. Class-5 drivers license with experience travelling on radio-controlled unpaved roads, including in winter conditions. Exposure to cloud-based identity and access management platforms (e.g., Azure Active Directory). Familiarity with remote support technologies and modern endpoint management tools. Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, evolving technology environment.
