0.37 FTE (term) Elementary Music prep teacher, South Nelson Elementary

School District #8 (Kootenay Lake) has a vacancy for a 0.37 FTE Elementary Music/prep teacher at South Nelson Elementary School in Nelson, B.C. to join our team of professionals in delivering a quality educational program to our students.  Personal musical training, competence, and previous experience teaching music will be an asset. An expectation is for the music teacher is to work towards building a thriving arts culture and developing musical literacy in all elementary grades. The awarded applicant will have recent demonstrated successful experience working in a multi-graded environment, collaborating with school staff, and teaching music. The awarded applicant will be knowledgeable and able to work appropriately with the diverse learning needs of students. Additionally, the applicant will be innovative, creative, and demonstrate understanding of the BC curriculum and the district directions. He/she will be a person who is continually striving to improve pedagogy in a changing educational environment. Qualifications: • Bachelor of Education with elementary classroom experience; ·        A valid BC teaching certificate through the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch. Salary Range; $68,589 - $114,833 per year, in accordance with the current SD8–Kootenay Lake / KLTF Collective Agreement. Placement on the salary grid is based on qualifications and years of teaching experience as evaluated by the BC Teacher Qualification Service (TQS).
