Joining the team means contributing to a vision that helps customers and colleagues alike to “See What’s Possible.” Role Description This full-time, on-site Team Leader role is based in Surrey, BC, and focuses on leading a high-performing optical retail and eye care team. The Team Leader oversees day-to-day operations on the shop floor, including coordinating staff schedules, managing workflow, and ensuring excellent customer and patient experiences. This role supports colleagues through coaching, performance feedback, and on-the-job training to maintain high standards of service, compliance, and product knowledge. Responsibilities include monitoring sales performance, supporting promotional activities, and ensuring that store targets and quality metrics are met. The Team Leader also collaborates with optometrists and other professionals to maintain a safe, inclusive, and efficient environment aligned with Boots Opticians’ values. Qualifications Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, including team coordination, coaching, and performance support. Strong customer service and communication abilities, with a focus on delivering positive, inclusive experiences in a retail or clinical setting. Experience in retail operations or healthcare services, including basic understanding of sales processes, service standards, and compliance. Organizational and problem-solving skills to manage daily store activities, prioritize tasks, and resolve issues effectively. Ability to work full time on-site in Surrey, BC, with flexibility to support store opening hours, including weekends as needed. Comfort working within a diverse team environment, respecting inclusion, accessibility, and non-discriminatory practices. Previous optical or healthcare experience, and knowledge of frames, lenses, or eye care services, is an asset but not mandatory. High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business, retail management, healthcare, or related fields is beneficial.
