Under the direct supervision of the General Manager, Outlet Manager, or Guest Services Manager, the Security & Maintenance Associate provides overnight operational support to ensure guest safety, property security, and timely resolution of technical issues. This position combines traditional security responsibilities with support to be provided to Night Audit staff with coverage of any urgent guest issues within the property. The role requires strong communication skills, a calm and professional demeanor when working with the public, and general knowledge of hotel procedures and LGCA regulations. Responsibilities include supporting guests and staff at all times, professionally managing complaints, assisting with cash-outs and deposits, and supervising personnel as needed. In addition, the position may need to provide coverage for the Night Auditor, respond promptly to overnight issues withing guest rooms such as plugged or leaking toilets, tripped breakers, TV resets and smoke detector concerns. Conducts property walk-arounds for crowd management in Tavern United and Playmakers, as well as parking lot checks and possibly snow maintenance logs to ensure guest safety. This is a part-time overnight Security position based at our Windsor Park location. Candidates must be available to work weekends and holidays as required. Must have a Security License. RESPONSIBILITIES * Patrol the property and assist guests with any room, security, or urgent maintenance requests during overnight hours. * Provide support to Night Audit staff and, when required, assume coverage of Night Auditor duties to ensure continuity of operations. * Respond promptly to guest room issues such as plugged or leaking toilets, tripped breakers, TV resets, and smoke detector concerns, ensuring timely resolution to prevent service delays or property damage. * Conduct property walk-arounds for crowd management in Tavern United and Playmakers and perform parking lot checks to maintain guest and staff safety. * Maintain logs for snow removal and sanding during winter conditions to ensure safe access for guests and employees. * Assist guests during accidents or emergency situations, and manage disturbances professionally, making eviction decisions in conjunction with the Department Manager or General Manager when necessary. * Conduct investigations, gather information, and prepare accurate reports for management review. * Verify guest identification and compliance with Canad Inns policies, LGCA regulations, and outlet dress codes; ensure proper screening procedures such as metal detector checks. * Monitor and enforce compliance with legal age requirements and responsible service guidelines. * Make daily journal entries and maintain accurate records of all incidents and activities. * Notify the General Manager, Outlet Manager, or Guest Services Manager immediately of serious situations or the attendance of outside agencies. * Notify the Vice President of Security, Safety, and Loss Prevention of any serious incidents, or pending legal matters, including subpoenas for court appearance; * Perform consent pat downs or consent purse searches; * Record any confiscated ID and submit incident or other reports as required; * Resolve disputes and situations as quickly and quietly as possible; * Should an accident occur render First Aid or CPR as required; * Take names and contact information for witnesses, in the event of an incident or dispute. * Use professionalism on the portable radio. Qualifications: * Articulately communicates both verbally and in writing; * Can acquire Criminal Background Check and necessary certificates (i.e., Smart Choice certification, First Aid, CPR) * Valid MB Security Guard License; * Clean with good hygiene habits; * Confident and assertive; * Detail-oriented; * Enjoys meeting and speaking with a variety of people; * Extroverted personality; * Knowledge of all LGCA guidelines; * Legal age; * Multi-tasks efficiently; * Organized, accurate and reliable; * Physically fit; * Positive and up-beat attitude; * Previous experience in a Club or Hotel setting is an asset; * Recognizes and resolves problems quickly and efficiently; * Willing to learn and take orders and direction.
