In this role you are part of a team that is responsible for monitoring guest safety and traffic flow of our parking lot. Our Parking Ambassadors acts as hosts, coordinating vehicle arrivals and departures, welcoming park guests and helping them with directions. This is a perfect job to get valuable Guest Service and Operational experience. It is an active, outdoor position that requires working as part of a team to exceed expectations of our guests. General Duties To create experiences that people are amazed by To smile, make eye contact and welcome every Guest Be knowledgeable about the history and features of Capilano Suspension Bridge Park Use your mobility to “wow” our Guests by anticipating their needs and going above and beyond Provide product knowledge to all Guests Parking Duties Help to achieve specific parking revenue goals Ensure Guests are able to find parking in a quick and efficient manner Wear a reflective vest while directing vehicles in the parking lots at all times Follow proper procedures associated with car break ins, and children and animals left unattended in vehicles Ensure all ticket machines are running effectively Ensure that there is always a Team Member available to help guests with ticket payment Assist with troubleshooting for ticket machines throughout the lots Preventative Security Work with Operations Managers and Supervisors to oversee daily security of the parking lot Work as a team to ensure all guest and team members are safe while walking through parking lot Assist with enforcing all rules and regulations of Guest activity while stationed in the parking lot General Operations Assist in maintaining cleanliness throughout the property Remain committed to the Guest service standards of the Park Comply with “Capilano Standards” for inventory and waste management, including organic recycling procedures Keep constant communication with and execute any reasonable directive from Operations Management and Supervisors Safety Responsibilities Take reasonable care to protect your own, co-workers and Guests’ health and safety Know and follow all Capilano’s health and safety policies and procedures Ask for further training before taking on any task that you are unsure of or have not been trained on Cooperate with the JOHS Committee and any person carrying out Occupational Health and Safety duties Use protective clothing, devices and equipment provided and find out what protective equipment is required for each task Ensure your ability to work without risk to your health and safety or any other person’s safety is not impaired by alcohol, drugs or other causes Be alert to hazards and immediately report hazards, defective equipment or concerns to your Supervisor. Working Conditions The ideal candidate must be able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, as well as in off-site locations, in order to meet the needs of the business. Team Members are required to be on their feet for extended periods of time. They are expected to deliver the position as described under various weather conditions. Occasionally, Team Members may be required to lift and carry up to 25lbs, climb a step ladder or step stool. The wage for this role is $18.75 per hour. Exigences
Candidates must have at least one year of guest service experience in the tourism industry and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, outdoor environment. Excellent communication skills and the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays are required.
