Discovery Co-operative is hiring a Full-Time Clerk III (Head Cashier) for our Battleford Food Store located in Battleford, SK. What you’ll do: * Responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring safe, efficient operations in compliance with Discovery Co-op policies, procedures, and standards. * Perform opening and closing procedures, recording transactions using the point-of-sale terminal, processing and packaging purchases, organizing, cleaning, stocking merchandise, and preparing daily cash reconciliations. * Responsible for providing cashier training to new and existing Team Members. * Plays a leadership role in completing inventories, opening and closing procedures. Provide expertise in till operations and leadership to the food team in the areas of customer service, product knowledge, productivity, and other areas as determined by Management. * Support Management by performing supervisory tasks in accordance with Discovery Co-op policies and procedures to promote a positive work environment and facilitate team member engagement. * Additional responsibilities include housekeeping tasks, assisting team members as needed, and completing other assigned duties. Who you are: You are looking for a career in Retail and: * Grade 12 or equivalent * Must be at least 18 years of age. * Proven supervisory skills with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity, preference for retail industry. * Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. * Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment. * Comfortable working with computers and proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products (word, excel, etc.) * Excellence communication and interpersonal skills. * Must be able to make decisions and adjust circumstances quickly and efficiently. * Co-operative retail experience is an asset. * This position at times will require taking after-hour phone calls. * Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. * Is an honest, trustworthy and results orientated individual who strives to be the best in what you do.
