ABOUT THE POSITION The Palace is looking for bussers to fill out their team on a part-time permanent basis. The busser is responsible for several key functions in the successful operation of the bar, including keeping tables and surface areas clean and organized, assisting where needed, and ensuring patrons are enjoying their time in a clean environment. WHAT YOU'LL GET * Hourly Wage: $15.00 * Gratuities * Duty meals * Extended health benefits after 90 days for employees working 28+ hours per week * 25% Company-wide food & beverage discount & access to frequent local business discounts/specials WHAT YOU'LL DO * Remove used glasses, cans, etc. from tables after patrons are finished. * Efficiently clear and clean tables and floors. Clean up waste using standard cleaning protocols. * Ensure bathrooms are fully stocked with supplies prior to open. Check on bathroom cleanliness throughout shift. * Change garbages, and ensure recyclables and waste are being disposed of properly. * Ensure all furniture is organized and tidy. * Able to lift 25lbs. Move venue tables and chairs as required by the specific event needs. * Assisting bartender assistants when needed. * Help maintain cleanliness & order of all venue surfaces. * Be ready and willing to provide support as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the venue. * Execute any other tasks required. WHAT YOU HAVE * Previous restaurant experience is preferred. * Strong communication skills with ability to establish and develop relationships with employees, partners, vendors, and customers. * Well organized with a strong attention to detail and exceptional time management. * Ability to fluently communicate in both written and verbal English. * Must have a basic knowledge of the dining room, service procedures and functions. * Possesses basic math skills, can handle money, and operate a point-of-sale system. * Ability to maintain professionalism, control, and composure in difficult and stressful situations. * Comfortability with large crowds. * Experience in working late nights. * Pro Serve Certification required but can be obtained within 30 days of joining. * WHMIS Certification is required but can be obtained once hired. * Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours). * Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds. * Must be over 18 as alcohol service and open scheduling availability is a requirement.
