JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN At DCM, we deliver integrated industrial construction, maintenance and turnaround services. Focus will mainly be for construction with limited commissioning and maintenance required. Main Responsibilities Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of industrial electrical equipment installations Install, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance Install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, and reactors Install and test electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems Gland and terminate cables in panels, junction boxes, and electrical equipment Fabricate and install cable tray and associated supports Installation of SR and MI EHT on piping as per isometric drawings Install and maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices May have to drive light equipment and light vehicles Inventory and material count Tools and equipment inspection Gather equipment and material Develop and review hazard assessments May have to inspect materials and equipment Assist the electrical foreman in the completion of work Review blueprints and plans Required Skills Valid Red Seal or Journeyman Certificate (Trade credential must be recognized in Alberta) High degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and others Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Demonstrate practical problem-solving ability. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form WORKING CONDITIONS Rotations: 14/7 (Shift Cycle is subject to change) Day shift (Night shift may be required- based on client needs) Travel is required Flights offered from Calgary or Edmonton Camp accommodations provided Ability to lift and carry objects independently or as a team Ability to meet and maintain site access requirements
