WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR We’re hiring a Quality Control Chemist to help test,review and release raw materials, packaging, bulk products and finished products. This is an on-site role based out of our Eastside Manufacturing Facility in Etobicoke. PAY RANGE The anticipated base salary for this position is $45,000 to $50,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. WHAT YOU'D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE Conduct evaluation on raw materials coming Primary and secondary packaging components as per Deciem Quality Standard Operating Procedures. Conduct testing and release of incoming raw materials that include testing for colour, odor, texture, pH, Viscosity, FTIR, and Titration. Verifying and releasing of incoming Primary and secondary packaging components. Cleaning, sanitization, calibration, and verification of Lab equipment. (E.g. pH Meter, viscometer, Scales, and Thermometer). Receiving, organizing, and storing of retained samples of raw material and packaging components. Work collaboratively with inventory control and warehouse department to ensure raw material and packaging components are tested according to procedure. Liaise between Design, Regulatory and R&D Team to address new Raw Material and packaging component commercial launch requirement. Address all packaging components related questions from Deciem operations or third-party manufacturers. Document activities and results according to quality standards. Follow Good Laboratory Practices, Good Documentation Practices, all relevant internal procedures in all laboratories related activities and ensure compliance with Corporate Quality Systems. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE 1- 2 years' experience in the quality control department. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Motivation and ability to solve complex problems. Strong ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment. Good computer skills in Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel).
