Mining Consultant – Open Pit Location | Calgary Department | Consulting Open Pit Mining Engineer? Take your site experience further with Deswik software and consulting in Calgary. We are growing across Canada and North America and are looking for an Open Pit Mining Engineer to join our Calgary team as a Mining Consultant. This is a great opportunity for a mining professional with open pit operational experience who is ready to expand beyond site-based engineering, build deep capability in Deswik software, and work with customers to solve practical mine planning challenges. Experience with Deswik is valued, but not essential — we will support you to develop into a confident Deswik user and trusted consulting partner. Working with our high-performing Consulting Team, you will: Apply your open pit mining knowledge across a variety of customers, commodities, mine types and operations Build advanced capability in Deswik’s mine planning software and use it to support practical engineering outcomes Support customers with open pit mine design, scheduling, optimisation, implementation and workflow improvement Develop, support and deliver training for Deswik customers as they adopt and mature their use of our tools Work alongside highly experienced engineers, geologists, software developers and consultants Grow your career from open pit engineering into specialist software consulting What’s in it for you? We’re run by engineers who ‘get it’ and are dedicated to fostering a positive work environment for our teams What you need to succeed: Degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline Experience as a Mining Engineer in open pit mining environments Strong understanding of open pit mine planning, design, scheduling and operational constraints An interest in developing specialist capability in Deswik software and applying technology to improve mining outcomes Experience with mine planning software; Deswik experience is a distinct advantage but not essential A consulting mindset, including curiosity, problem solving capability and confidence working with customers Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal A passion for innovation, continuous learning and sharing knowledge with others P.Eng or PE designation would be beneficial but not essential Why Deswik?
