ABOUT THE POSITION Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for designing work areas related to long-hole drilling and blasting activities. They also conduct field follow-ups, prepare plans, compile data, and participate in decision-making. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Monitor various work areas related to drilling and blasting Design, review, and approve drilling and blasting plans and specifications Participate in the design process of mining stopes Promote best practices in drilling and blasting to control dilution and maximize ore recovery Complete performance back-analyses of mining stopes Conduct field visits for quality control of drilling and long-hole loading Lead continuous improvement projects in drilling and blasting Comply with, understand, and promote company regulations and policies, especially regarding health and safety Perform any other related tasks as required QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in an underground mine Practical experience in drilling and blasting is considered an asset Completion of mining modules 1 to 5 and 7 Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec Valid general explosives permit Good computer skills, including Deswik and Microsoft Office Suite Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset SKILLS Teamwork in a multicultural environment Analytical and problem-solving skills Organizational skills Adaptability Precision and attention to detail Strong oral and written communication skills WORK CONDITIONS Éléonore mine site (round-trip flights from Montreal, Chibougamau, Matagami, Rouyn-Noranda, Val-d'Or, and Wemindji) Schedule: 14 days on, 14 days off
