Company Description Dundas Valley Golf & Curling Club is a private members’ club in Dundas, Ontario, set within the scenic Niagara Escarpment and designed by renowned Canadian golf course architect Stanley Thompson. The Club is known for exceptional service, high-quality amenities, and an inviting atmosphere, equipped with a full 18-hole golf course, par three short course and five sheet curling rink. Dining facilities include a ballroom with impressive course views and private dining spaces in the Stanley Thompson Lounge and Bertram Lounge. The Club is a private, non-profit, recreational corporation, dedicated to providing high quality golf, curling, leisure and social activities in a wholesome and friendly environment for the enjoyment and benefit of its members and guests. Role Description The Facilities Manager is a full-time, on-site role, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and operations of the Club’s buildings and infrastructure. This role ensures that all facilities, including dining areas, lounges, locker rooms, and support spaces, are safe, clean, and functioning efficiently. Daily responsibilities include coordinating repairs and preventive maintenance, managing vendor and contractor relationships, monitoring building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), and responding promptly to facility-related issues. The Facilities Manager will develop and implement maintenance schedules, oversee small renovation or improvement projects, and maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. The role also involves budget tracking for facilities-related expenses, supervising maintenance staff, and collaborating with club leadership to support high service standards and an exceptional member experience. Qualifications Facility operations and maintenance skills, including experience with building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) in a hospitality, recreational, or similar environment. Project coordination and vendor management skills, including the ability to schedule work, oversee contractors, and manage small construction or renovation projects. Health, safety, and compliance knowledge, including familiarity with relevant building codes, occupational health and safety requirements, and environmental best practices. Leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising maintenance or operations staff and fostering a collaborative, service-oriented culture. Administrative and organizational skills, including budgeting, record-keeping, maintenance planning, and use of facility management or work-order systems. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with members, colleagues, vendors, and external service providers. Relevant technical training or certification (e.g., building operations, facilities management, trades qualification) is preferred; a college diploma or degree in a related field is an asset. Ability to work on-site with flexibility to respond to facility issues outside standard hours as needed. Previous experience in a club, or hospitality setting.
