Job Details Position Title: Nursing Lab Specialist Status: FT Support Hours: 40 hours per week Faculty/Department: Faculty of Health & Life Sciences, School of Nursing Campus/Location: North Campus Salary: Payband K: $47.13 - $54.48 Starting Salary: $47.13; the wage is determined by the Full-Time Support Collective Agreement. Compensation is progressional within the designated payband and is based on years of service. About The Nursing Lab Specialist Role This role reinforces practice skills, provides feedback based on pre-determined criteria/learning outcomes and provides technical expertise for students in the Lab and Simulation setting to become proficient in the performance of skills as established by the cluster for PSW, PN, BScN. In this role, the Nursing Lab Specialist (NLS) supports learners by applying previously taught theoretical content to practical application and supports skills mastery through demonstration and feedback. The role also includes the assessment of student acquisition of skills using Faculty developed pre-established performance checklists within the lab setting. The role is required to prepare the lab environment by setting-up materials and staying abreast of current and new resources for Faculty recommendation in lab courses. If this sounds like you, keep reading: Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Masters in Nursing preferred Must maintain registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) with no practice restrictions. Experience Minimum of 5 years’ recent experience in direct patient care in a variety of clinical care settings, including adult acute or long-term care.
