About The Role We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Operator to support food safety and quality programs within our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will be responsible for performing quality inspections, product testing, and documentation activities to ensure products consistently meet company standards, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance expectations. As a key member of the Quality team, you will work closely with Production to maintain product integrity and support a culture of food safety and continuous improvement. Location: Brampton, ON Shift: Night- 11pm-7am Key Responsibilities Quality Monitoring & Production Support Perform quality control activities in direct support of plant operations. Conduct production line checks, including line clearances and first-pack inspections. Verify lot coding, product labeling, best-before dates, and weight declarations. Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) to ensure food safety compliance throughout production. Inspect finished products to ensure conformance with product specifications and packaging requirements. Create and print product labels using Label View software, ensuring accurate product IDs and date coding. Product Testing & Evaluation Conduct chemical, physical, and organoleptic testing on products and in-process batches. Measure and record moisture content, pH, density, and viscosity. Perform quality evaluations, including seal integrity testing and fondant assessments. Assess product appearance, colour, texture, flavour, and overall quality attributes. Measure physical product characteristics such as diameter, height, and weight. Monitor and record oven temperatures and other process parameters. Assist in identifying and troubleshooting product quality concerns. Documentation & Record Keeping Maintain accurate quality records and production documentation. Complete data entry, filing, and record management activities in accordance with quality management system requirements. Ensure all quality documentation is completed accurately and on time to support compliance and audit readiness. Qualifications Required Post-secondary education in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Assurance, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Experience in a food manufacturing, food processing, or quality environment. Knowledge of food safety principles, GMPs, HACCP, and quality systems. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective communication and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with computer applications and data entry systems. Preferred Experience performing laboratory and sensory testing in a food manufacturing setting. Familiarity with Label View or similar labeling software.
