Role Description The Consultant role at Global Financial Impact is a full-time hybrid position based in Abbotsford, BC, with flexibility for some work from home. The Consultant will meet with individuals and families to assess their financial needs, explain financial concepts, and recommend appropriate strategies and solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting client consultations, preparing personalized financial plans, and following up regularly to support ongoing progress toward client goals. The role also involves participating in training sessions, staying current on financial products and regulations, and collaborating with other team members to share best practices. Consultants are expected to build and maintain a professional network, contribute to GFI’s mission-driven culture, and model a client-first, ethical approach to financial guidance. Qualifications Strong consultative skills, including active listening, problem solving, and the ability to explain complex financial concepts in clear, accessible language. Experience in or strong interest in financial services, wealth management, insurance, or related fields; willingness to obtain required provincial licenses and certifications. Client relationship skills, including empathy, professionalism, and the ability to build trust with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. Business development capabilities, such as networking, outreach, and the ability to grow and manage a personal book of business. Solid organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client engagements and follow-through commitments consistently. Comfort with technology, including CRM tools, virtual meeting platforms, and productivity software to support hybrid work. Motivated, goal-oriented mindset aligned with GFI’s mission of financial empowerment and leadership development. Post-secondary education in business, finance, economics, or a related discipline is an asset, but equivalent experience will be considered. Eligibility to work in Canada and availability to work primarily from Abbotsford, BC, with occasional in-person meetings and events.
