The technician performs various diagnostic echocardiograms and stress tests on inpatients and outpatients while assisting physicians with specialized procedures. They are also responsible for documenting pathology, writing preliminary reports, and maintaining a clean and organized clinical workspace.

The Echocardiography Technologist performs Echocardiograms on both inpatients and outpatients. Duties include: performing M-mode, 2-D, Doppler and color flow echocardiograms in accordance with hospital procedure, including inserting IVs and performing Enhanced studies ; interpreting echocardiograms and documenting pathology; assisting physicians with trans esophageal echocardiograms; performing dobutamine stress echocardiography and recumbent bike stress echocardiography tests; writing preliminary reports for cardiologists interpreting echocardiograms; restocking and cleaning of workspace, providing patient care within scope and other duties as may be assigned. 1. Cardiovascular Technician diploma/ CardioPulmonary Technologist / Registered Respiratory Therapist Diploma (or equivalent) with active registration and membership in good standing applicable registering body (e.g., CSCT) 2. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of cardiopulmonary function as it relates to the various diagnostic testing 3. Demonstrates ECG interpretation skills. 4. Minimum one year recent experience in Exercise Stress Testing lab within the last five years, including all aspects of Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing preferred 5. Demonstrated ability to work in an interdisciplinary team environment 6. Demonstrated effective communication (written and verbal), organization and interpersonal skills 7. Demonstrated effective problem solving skills, critical thinking and the ability to prioritize in a fast paced clinical environment 8. Demonstrated initiative and judgment appropriate for the position 9. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment and demonstrate behavior consistent with HHS Values Based Code of Conduct 10. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining and improving individual competence as well as contributing to the education and development of students 11. Demonstrated advanced arrhythmia interpretation skills 12. Current BLS certification 13. Minimum of one year experience in ECG Lab with demonstrated interpretation skills within the last five years considered an asset

Exigences

Candidates must hold a Cardiovascular Technician diploma or equivalent with active registration and membership in a professional body. A minimum of one year of recent experience in an exercise stress testing lab and current BLS certification are required.
