Role and Facility Information Fraser Health is seeking physicians interested in working at Burnaby Hospital. The successful candidate(s) will be responsible to provide services including admission and management as the Most Responsible Physician (MRP) for otherwise unattached patients, as well as supportive care for surgical, medical specialty and psychiatric patients. The Hospitalist Program at Burnaby is a well-established program with physicians who are committed to providing the highest quality of care to our patients. Burnaby Hospital is a community hospital, committed to a culture of collaborative, inter-professional team-based care. Applicants should have a desire and ability to work collaboratively with all members of the inter-professional team, including other physicians, Nurses, and Allied Health staff. The candidate requires excellent clinical and communication skills. Collegiality, enthusiasm, flexibility, and a willingness to learn, improve and adapt are important qualities. Experience in Hospitalist work is an asset, although not necessary. Interest in quality improvement and leadership is an asset. The work is rotated equally among members of the group and will include contributions to committee and administrative work. Intake shifts in ER, evenings, weekend and night shifts are mandatory and are shared equally. Continuity of care is important, and weekend work is approximately 1 in 3.
