Personal Lines Underwriter II The purpose of this role is to underwrite and manage a portfolio of business by assessing and negotiating medium complexity renewals, endorsements, and new submissions. The incumbent will apply sound underwriting judgment and company philosophy to evaluate risk, set appropriate terms and conditions, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. What you'll do... Underwrite and negotiate medium complexity renewals, policy endorsements, and new business. Gathering background information on potential customers and analyzing all relevant data to determine risk levels. Preparing terms and conditions of insurance policies. Underwriting portfolio management, working within the company operational plan to understand and apply underwriting philosophy to write a profitable book of business. Provide exemplary customer experience and manage the development of internal and external stakeholders. Negotiate terms and conditions of risk acceptance with brokers. Ensure day-to-day underwriting practices confirm to all necessary regulatory obligations. Product and pricing management, understanding and implementing company marketing strategies; assist management in development of products, pricing, and services. Identify and communicate trends to management. Participate in, or provide, training and development initiatives. Preparing the terms and conditions of insurance policies. What you'll bring... As our ideal candidate, you have previous experience within the insurance industry as well as a solid understanding of Personal Lines contracts. You have proven decision-making and analytical skills, including the ability to determine how to grow business profitability through assessment and analysis of individual risks. Post-secondary education or equivalent experience. CIP designation is preferred. Previous experience in underwriting and rural business, dealing with or as a broker would be an asset. The salary range for this role is $50,000 - $70,000. The salary for the successful candidate will be determined by various factors including but not limited to an individual’s relevant experience, knowledge, skills, along with internal equity, and market considerations.
