The Hospital is formally affiliated with both the University of Toronto and Queen’s University. We are looking for a Registered Nurse within our 8W Acute Medical Unit. Employee Status: Temporary Part Time Duration: October 31, 2027 subject to change Reporting Relationship: Manager of 8 East & West Hourly Rate Range: $41.15 - $58.98 Schedule Requirements: Must be able to work rotating shifts days, nights, evenings and weekends Location: Wilson site Employee Group: ONA Position Responsibilities: RN responsibilities for general medicine, geriatric, ALC, palliative inpatients, geriatrics,neurology, medicine, and hip fracture patients. Care planning and coordination of care with various team members. Assessment of pain management. Utilization of computerized systems for patient care documentation. Participation in project teams or Hospital committees as required. Resource/team leader responsibilities. Preceptorship of nursing students. Qualifications: Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario Current BCLS certification or demonstrated competency. 2 years of recent medical/surgical experience perferred. Basic computer skills. Good problem solving skills. Willingness to rotate to other departments as required. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work with a multidisciplinary team, patients, family members and visitors Excellent organizational skills and problem solving skills. Demonstrated patient assessment skills. Related patient assessment course is preferred. Excellent attendance and discipline free record required. The Registered Nurse will provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients in the 8 West Acute Medical Unit, including assessment, care planning, and coordination. They will also utilize computerized documentation systems and participate in team leadership and student preceptorship.

Candidates must hold current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and BCLS certification. Two years of recent medical/surgical experience is preferred, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
